US WWII M16A1 Anti-Aircraft Halftrack: 1:18 Scale
To meet the demands for mobile anti-aircraft firepower, the U.S. Army converted M3 personel carrying halftracks anti-aircraft vehicles by adding a power-operated Maxson turret equipped with four deadly .50 caliber machine guns. Officially designated the M16A1, the half-track was a mainstay in the Army's anti-aircraft defenses through the end of the Korean War. The detail and painting on these models are awesome! As a 40-somthing guy, I have to say, these are painted and detailed way cooler than I was ever able to produce as a modeler. This is much nicer than the old Monogram 1/32 or Tamiya 1/35 scale kits that we all loved. The new-in-the box 1/18 scale plastic model kit includes armored driving visor that drops in place with moveable vision slits, armor windows on the doors that fold over, doors that open, gun mount that swivels with elevating guns, seperate anti-tank mines, Jerry cans and cargo loads, and soft rubber treads and tires that turn. Minor glueless assembly required. Fully illustrated instructions included. There are lots of small parts. Recommended for ages 5+. These models are out of production so don't hesitate to buy! When these are gone, that is it if you hesitate, your troops will be lacking their much needed air defense (not to mention how much real estate they can chew up when they level those four Fifties!)
